Xeriscape Extreme

The Xeriscape Extreme flower mix is a collection of extremely adaptable, drought tolerant, hardy and beautiful varieties for the waterwise gardener. The twenty annuals and perennials have a range of bloom times from spring through fall. Their palette of colors range from soft white to bright yellows to cool blues. Xeriscape means water-efficient landscaping. Xeriscape promotes environmentally sound gardening techniques to conserve water and reduce maintenance while producing beautiful landscapes with year-round appeal. Some of the varieties included are Birds Eyes, Blanketflower, Blue Flax, California Poppy, Cosmos Sulphur, African Daisy, Gazania, Mexican Hat, and Phlox Mountain. In cool climates plant in the spring, 1 to 2 weeks before the last average frost date. In mild climates, sow seed during cooler months, generally October through March. Soil should be kept moist while the seeds are germinating and beginning to grow. Be sure to keep the weeds pulled so they do not compete with the flowers for water and sun. Squash - Summer Zucchini - Lebanese If you like summer squash even a little, you must try this Lebanese summer squash. The slightly sweet flavor is excellent when squash is harvested small or when used for stuffing. Use it in any recipe calling for Zucchini. This squash is blocky, club-shaped, medium long and is light geen in color. Plant in the spring, 2 to 4 weeks after the last average frost date. Harvest as soon as squash reaches 3 to 5 inches in length. Squash are most tender and flavorful when young.
